Josef Fares, the visionary behind Hazelight Studios, recently revealed key details about their highly anticipated game, Split Fiction, during an interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares underscored Hazelight's unwavering commitment to a player-centric approach, firmly rejecting live-service models and microtransactions. The studio's independence remains paramount, with no plans for an IPO or acquisition by a larger company. Fares stated definitively, "We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
In a conversation with MinnMax, Fares shared that Split Fiction's core narrative clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, mirroring the playtime of their acclaimed title, It Takes Two. However, with optional missions and extra content, players can anticipate a total playtime extending to 16-17 hours.
While Hazelight is renowned for its collaborative co-op experiences, Fares hinted at the potential for future single-player ventures. He also revealed that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two, yet the studio has opted against post-launch DLC, guaranteeing a complete and polished experience from day one. Split Fiction launches worldwide on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
