The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay, specifically highlighting the need for significant improvements to both core gameplay mechanics and the monster hunting experience. His statement: "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience," underscores this commitment.
Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the enhanced power and impact of monster battles, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.
Expect a substantial combat overhaul in The Witcher 4. CD Projekt Red recognizes the shortcomings of past Witcher games' combat and is actively addressing them, improvements that will likely carry over into future installments, especially considering Ciri's central role in the upcoming trilogy.
Interestingly, developers also plan to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest, originally set in Novigrad, saw Geralt assisting with preparations, including monster extermination, procuring alcohol, and choosing a wedding gift. This storyline highlights Triss's romantic feelings for Castello and her desire for a swift marriage.
