Mecha BREAK, the exciting multiplayer mech game, recently wrapped up its open beta on Steam, which ended on March 16. The beta attracted an impressive peak of over 300,000 players and has now secured its position as the 5th most wishlisted game on the platform. In response to the valuable feedback received during this period, the developers at Chinese studio Amazing Seasun are contemplating significant changes, particularly around the availability of Break Strikers (Mechs) and the use of mech modules in 3v3 and 6v6 competitive modes.
One of the key considerations is making all starting mechs free from the outset. Initially, players could only access one Break Striker at the start of the game, with the remaining 11 requiring in-game currency earned through multiple multiplayer matches. This approach necessitated a considerable grind for players aiming to unlock all 12 Break Strikers. In light of player feedback, the developers are exploring the possibility of removing these barriers to enhance the gaming experience right from the start.
However, Amazing Seasun is cautious about committing to these changes immediately. They believe that adopting a live service model at launch is crucial for the long-term success and sustainability of Mecha BREAK. The team is still weighing the pros and cons of these potential adjustments and how they might fit into the game's future development.
