Shotguns Silenced in Warzone: Raven Software Temporarily Removes Shotguns

Call of Duty: Warzone's Reclaimer 18 Shotgun Temporarily Deactivated

The popular Reclaimer 18 shotgun in Call of Duty: Warzone has been temporarily removed from the game. The official Call of Duty announcement offered little explanation, leaving players to speculate on the reasons behind this sudden, albeit temporary, disabling.

Warzone boasts an extensive arsenal, constantly expanding with weapons from new Call of Duty titles like Black Ops 6. This vast selection presents balancing challenges, especially when integrating weapons designed for other games (like Modern Warfare 3) into Warzone's unique gameplay. Maintaining balance and stability across the entire weapon pool is a complex task for developers.

The Reclaimer 18, a semi-automatic shotgun inspired by the real-world SPAS-12, is the latest weapon affected. The lack of detail in the official announcement has fueled player theories, with some suggesting a problematic "glitched" blueprint version of the weapon is to blame. Videos and screenshots showcasing its potentially overpowered performance have circulated online.

Player reactions are mixed. Many applaud the developers for temporarily addressing potential balance issues, even suggesting a review of the JAK Devastators aftermarket parts which allow dual-wielding of the Reclaimer 18, creating a highly effective, albeit potentially frustrating, combat setup. However, others express disappointment, arguing the disabling is overdue, especially given that the problematic blueprint is part of a paid Tracer Pack, raising concerns about unintentional "pay-to-win" mechanics. These players advocate for more thorough testing before releasing paid content. The situation highlights the ongoing balancing act between adding new content and maintaining a fair and stable gameplay experience.
