Krafton’s much-anticipated life simulator inZOI has been delayed to give the game a ‘stronger foundation.’ Read on to learn more about what the game’s director said in his official statement on Discord.
inZOI Release Date Moved to March 28, 2025inZOI’s Delay Due to Positive Player Feedback
Gamers eager to play Krafton’s hyper-realistic competitor to the Sims may have to wait a little longer. Despite reportedly stating that they will release inZOI in early access before the end of the year, the ambitious title has been officially delayed to March 28, 2025. The news, announced on the game’s Discord server by director Hyungjin "Kjun" Kim, comes with assurance that the extra development time will result in a more polished and fulfilling experience.
Kjun compared the extended development to raising a child. "Among primates, raising a human child to adulthood takes the longest," he said, metaphorically linking inZOI;s progress to the long journey of nurturing a game until it’s truly ready for its audience. This delay is partly influenced by positive player feedback from character creator demos and playtests. According to Kjun, these interactions helped the team realize "the responsibility we have to provide players with the most complete experience possible."
"After reviewing your feedback from inZOI… we have made our decision to release inZOI in Early Access on March 28, 2025," added Kjun. "We apologize that we could not bring you the game sooner, but this decision reflects our commitment to giving inZOI the best possible start."
⚫︎ Data from SteamDBWhile delays in the gaming industry are sometimes met with frustration, Krafton is doubling down on its commitment to produce a game worthy of the enthusiasm it has garnered. This is especially true considering inZOI's character studio alone garnered 18,657 concurrent-player peak in its short lifespan of just less than a week before its removal from Steam on August 25, 2024.
First announced in Korea in 2023, inZOI is touted by fans as a potential rival to The Sims. It aims to redefine the life-simulation genre with unparalleled customization and realistic graphics. By delaying the launch to March 2025, Krafton seems to aim to avoid launching an incomplete game, especially after Life By You was canceled earlier this year. This delay, however, puts inZOI in competition with Paralives, another life simulator set to release in 2025.
For fans eager for inZOI, the wait until next March will be an exercise in patience, but one that Krafton promises will lead to a game worth sinking hours into "for years to come." Whether you’re managing a Zois’ work stress or going for a virtual karaoke session with friends, inZOI is setting itself up to be more than just a Sims competitor—it aims to create a new space for itself in the life simulation genre.
