Pokemon GO Accidentally Reveals Upcoming Legendary Dynamax Raids

Pokémon GO Leak Hints at Dynamax Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno Raids

A premature announcement from the official Pokémon GO Saudi Arabia Twitter account, since deleted, revealed the upcoming arrival of Dynamax Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno in Dynamax Raids. The event is reportedly scheduled from January 20th to February 3rd. This would mark the first appearance of Dynamax legendary Pokémon in the game, following the introduction of Dynamax Pokémon in September 2024.

The Kanto legendary birds remain incredibly popular within the Pokémon community. Their previous appearances in standard raids, alongside their Shiny forms, are testament to this. While Galarian versions have been featured in Daily Incense (albeit with lower spawn rates), the potential addition of Dynamax Kanto birds promises a significant event.

The accidental leak suggests a possible expansion of Dynamax Raids to include more iconic legendary Pokémon in the future. Considering the Dynamax forms of Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, and others in Pokémon Sword and Shield, this development seems plausible. However, the difficulty level of these upcoming Dynamax legendary raids remains uncertain. Previous Max Raids faced criticism due to their difficulty and the requirement of large player groups (40 players), raising concerns about potential repeat issues.

This leak follows a flurry of Pokémon GO event announcements for early 2025. These include a Community Day Classic featuring Ralts on January 25th, a Shadow Raid Day on January 19th featuring Shadow Ho-Oh (with up to seven free Raid Passes available), and the confirmed host cities for Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris.
