Insomniac Games Remains Silent on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date
Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but remained tight-lipped about Marvel's Wolverine. While co-head Chad Dezern acknowledged the studio's ambitious roadmap and numerous exciting projects, he confirmed they aren't ready to divulge any information regarding the highly anticipated Wolverine title. A 2025 release remains unconfirmed. The company is prioritizing its current projects and managing expectations surrounding the release.
Wolverine's Development History and Shared Universe
Initially unveiled during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, Marvel's Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5. A cinematic teaser trailer fueled fan anticipation. In 2023, Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed the game's shared universe with Marvel's Spider-Man, stating both exist within the same continuity ("1048"). While fans speculated on crossovers, the only confirmed connection so far is a Wolverine-themed suit in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. A ransomware attack in December 2023 briefly exposed some of Wolverine's development assets to the public.
Insomniac's Current Projects and Future Plans
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is launching on PC on January 30, 2025, as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025. Insomniac has confirmed no further DLC for Spider-Man 2, though the PC version will include all post-launch updates. Two editions will be available: Standard and Digital Deluxe.
