Marvel Rivals Competitive Rank Reset: A Comprehensive Guide
Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play Marvel-themed PvP hero shooter, features a competitive mode with seasonal rank resets. This guide details the rank reset mechanics, timing, rank tiers, and season duration.
Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics
At the end of each season, your competitive rank is demoted by seven tiers. For example, a player ending the season at Diamond I will begin the next season at Gold II. Players ending in Bronze III will remain at Bronze III.
Rank Reset Timing
The rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. Season 1's start date (January 10th, at the time of writing) indicates the approximate reset timing for future seasons.
All Competitive Ranks
Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Progression through ranks is based on accumulating 100 points per tier. The rank tiers are:
- Bronze (III-I)
- Silver (III-I)
- Gold (III-I)
- Platinum (III-I)
- Diamond (III-I)
- Grandmaster (III-I)
- Eternity
- One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)
Even after reaching Grandmaster I, players can continue earning points to achieve Eternity and One Above All ranks. One Above All requires a top 500 leaderboard placement.
Season Duration
While Season 0 was shorter, subsequent seasons are anticipated to last approximately three months. New seasons introduce new heroes (e.g., the Fantastic Four) and maps. The extended season length provides more time for rank progression.
