EA confirms plans to bring many of its popular titles to the Nintendo Switch 2. During a recent financial call, CEO Andrew Wilson highlighted key franchises like Madden NFL and EA SPORTS FC as strong candidates for the new console, suggesting they could see significant success. He also mentioned The Sims as a title with potential for a positive reception on the Switch 2. Wilson emphasized the opportunity to reach new players with these established IPs on a new platform.
While the announcement of Madden and EA SPORTS FC on the Switch 2 isn't surprising, the question of feature parity remains. EA's history of releasing "legacy" versions of FIFA on previous Nintendo consoles raises this concern. However, given the Switch 2's anticipated increased power, future iterations of EA SPORTS FC could potentially offer a more comparable experience to their PlayStation, Xbox, and PC counterparts.
The Switch 2's game lineup is gradually taking shape. Numerous third-party titles are rumored, including Civilization 7 (with Firaxis expressing interest in the rumored Joy-Con mouse mode), several Nacon published titles, and the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong. Nintendo itself is developing a new Mario Kart, with further details expected at a Nintendo Direct in April.
