Star Wars Celebration brought us thrilling news about an upcoming update for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, themed around The Mandalorian and Grogu, which will coincide with the release of a new movie. This update, set to launch on May 22, 2026, promises a fresh storyline that diverges from the plot of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie but still prominently features both Din Djarin and Grogu. The narrative kicks off when Hondo Ohnaka learns of a secretive deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and pirates, sparking a high-stakes galactic chase. Players will join forces with Mando and Grogu to pursue these criminals and secure a bounty in an engaging, galaxy-spanning adventure.
One of the exciting new elements is the expanded role of Engineers, who will now have the responsibility of caring for Grogu. This update introduces new planets to explore, including Coruscant, alongside familiar locales like Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor, all part of a choose-your-own-adventure format.

While full details are yet to be unveiled, we know that Engineers will play a crucial role, looking after Grogu. Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama shared insights into what guests can expect from this update. "Throughout the mission, we're going to give the Engineers the opportunity to actually communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "We think it's going to be a ton of fun. There might be times when Mando has to leave the Razor Crest, leaving Grogu to his own devices, which could lead to some amusing moments with Grogu fiddling with the control panel. We love the idea of these fun, interactive vignettes where you're communicating with Grogu."
Kalama also touched on the choose-your-own-adventure aspect of the update, noting, "There will be a critical moment in your adventure where you're pressed for time and need to make a lightning-quick decision about which bounty to pursue. This decision will be the inciting incident that determines your journey across different destinations."
