Dragon Quest 3 Remake: Conquering Baramos's Lair – A Complete Guide

After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia, the Everbird, your journey culminates in Baramos's Lair. This challenging dungeon serves as a crucial test before venturing into the game's underworld. This guide details navigating and conquering Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.

Baramos, the primary antagonist of the game's first half, resides within his formidable lair. Access is granted only after obtaining Ramia. Aim for a party level of at least 20 before tackling this challenge. The dungeon holds valuable items, detailed in the sections below.

Reaching Baramos's Lair

Having acquired the Silver Orb from the Maw of the Necrogond, you'll unlock Ramia. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or the Necrogond Shrine to Baramos's Lair, located on a mountainous island north of the Necrogond Shrine. Ramia will transport you near the dungeon entrance; simply proceed north to enter.

Navigating Baramos's Lair

Unlike typical dungeons, Baramos's Lair features interconnected indoor and outdoor areas. The objective: reach Baramos. The main outdoor area, "Surroundings," serves as a central hub. We'll outline the main path to the boss, followed by treasure locations on each floor.

Main Path to Baramos:

  1. Upon entering from the overworld, bypass the main entrance. Instead, proceed east, towards the northeast pool.
  2. At the stairs leading to the pool, turn left (west) to another stairwell. Ascend and enter the door on the right (Eastern Tower).
  3. Reach the Eastern Tower's top and exit.
  4. Cross the castle roof southwest, descend the stairs, continue west, and navigate the gaps in the northwest double wall. Use the northwest stairwell.
  5. This leads to the Central Tower. Use "Safe Passage" to cross electrified floor panels and descend the southwest stairs to "B1 Passageway A."
  6. In "B1 Passageway A," head east to the far eastern stairs.
  7. This enters the South-East Tower. Ascend the northeast stairs to the roof, then head west and descend again. Cross the grass northwest and enter the only available door.
  8. This leads to a small area in the northeast Central Tower. Exit.
  9. You're now in "B1 Passageway B." Proceed north and ascend the stairs.
  10. Enter the Throne Room. Exit south, avoiding floor panels.
  11. Back in "Surroundings," head east to the northeast island structure – Baramos's Den, where the boss awaits.
