Iconic Bethesda Voice Actor of Skyrim, Fallout 3, and More Shares Heartfelt Message Amid Recovery

Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his work in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and countless other titles, has shared a moving message of gratitude following a harrowing ordeal. Last week, he was found “barely alive” in his Atlanta hotel room, prompting an outpouring of support.

A video posted on a GoFundMe page, which has already raised an astounding $174,653 for his medical expenses and other bills, reveals that Johnson was in a coma. In the video, a visibly recovering Johnson expresses his deep appreciation: "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you."

The acclaimed voice actor and Washington Capitals announcer was in Atlanta for a benefit event hosted by the National Alzheimer’s Foundation. After arriving and checking into his hotel, concerns arose when he failed to appear at the event. His wife, Kim Johnson, contacted the hotel, leading to security personnel and EMTs discovering him with a barely detectable pulse.

“Rumors of my demise, well, they weren't exaggerated. It was very close, very close. But I'm still here,” Johnson shared. He credits his wife's quick thinking and the actions of his son, who contacted hotel security, with saving his life. He was subsequently hospitalized and placed in a medically induced coma for five days. It was during this time that he learned of the GoFundMe campaign organized by his dear friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, and his wife, Kim.

Johnson expressed his sincere thanks to the National Alzheimer’s Association for supporting his family during this difficult time, providing them with travel and accommodations. He also extended his gratitude to Ted Leonsis, chairman of the Washington Capitals’ parent company, for a generous $25,000 donation. He singled out Glasser and Elliker for their exceptional efforts in organizing the fundraiser.

He also offered heartfelt thanks to Bethesda, who publicly expressed their support on social media. “You say that I’m your friend. I am,” he stated emotionally. “Always will be. Love you guys.” Finally, he addressed his fans, both those who donated and those who offered support in other ways: “I love you all. I’m not going anywhere.”

“It’s going to be a while as I work my way back, but I’m coming back. I look forward to seeing and hearing you all then. Cheers.”

Johnson's extensive voice acting career encompasses numerous film and television roles, but he is perhaps best known for his contributions to Bethesda Game Studios' titles. His memorable roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
