Firaxis Games Unveils Civ 7 Post-Launch Roadmap
Firaxis Games has revealed its post-launch roadmap for Civilization VII (Civ 7), detailing upcoming content including paid DLC and free updates. The game launched on February 11th.
Paid DLC: Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar
The first wave of paid DLC will feature Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar as playable leaders.
March Updates: Free Content and More
Firaxis has outlined a three-pronged approach to post-launch content: Content Collections (paid DLC), Free Updates, and Events & Challenges. March will see the release of several updates, categorized as follows:
Beyond March, Firaxis plans to release two additional leaders, four civilizations, and four world wonders, along with new events and challenges. Specific release dates for this content have not yet been announced. Further content drops are also planned for October 2025 and beyond.
Future Updates (No Release Dates):
Firaxis also acknowledged several features that didn't make the initial launch but are in development:
- Multiplayer team support
- Expansion of multiplayer to 8 players
- Player selection of starting and ending ages
- Increased map type variety
- Hotseat multiplayer
The roadmap promises a steady stream of updates and expansions for Civ 7, ensuring continued player engagement and gameplay enhancements in the months and years to come.
