Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially closing its servers. This isn't entirely unexpected, following a similar fate for other Naruto gacha games, notably Naruto Blazing.
The game, launched in 2017, will conclude its run on December 9th, 2024. Players can still enjoy several upcoming events before the shutdown, including the Village Leader World Championship (October 8th-18th), an All-Out Mission (October 18th-November 1st), and a final "Thanks For Everything" campaign (November 1st-December 1st). In-game activities, such as collecting Ninja Cards and summoning, will remain accessible until the final day. Players are encouraged to utilize any remaining Gold Coins.
The game's decline appears to stem from a shift in gameplay balance. While initially praised for its village-building and defense mechanics, the introduction of powerful characters like Minato exacerbated power creep. This, coupled with increased pay-to-win elements, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the dwindling of multiplayer features, ultimately led to player attrition and the game's eventual closure. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those interested in a final playthrough.
