"GTA 5 Enhanced Edition Receives Lowest User Reviews on Steam"

Rockstar's latest iteration of Grand Theft Auto 5, known as GTA 5 Enhanced, has faced a rocky reception since its release on March 4. On Steam, the game has garnered a 'mixed' user review rating, with only 54% of the 19,772 reviews being positive. This contrasts sharply with the original GTA 5 on Steam, which, despite being unlisted and unavailable in searches, boasts a 'very positive' rating.

GTA 5 Enhanced has the lowest user review score among all GTA titles on Steam, falling below even Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition, which holds a 66% positive review rating. This new version offers a free upgrade for PC players, incorporating features from the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S versions of GTA Online, such as access to Hao’s Special Works, new vehicles, performance upgrades, animal encounters, and the option to purchase a GTA+ Membership. It also promises enhanced graphics and faster loading times, with the added convenience of migrating Story Mode and Online progress.

However, the account migration process has proven to be a significant stumbling block for many users, contributing to the bulk of negative feedback. Frustrated players have shared their experiences, with one stating, “The GTA Online profile associated with this Rockstar Games account is not eligible for migration at this time,” and expressing unwillingness to abandon their progress. Another review highlighted the downgrade from the original version and the lack of support from Rockstar in resolving migration issues.

Despite the negative feedback, GTA 5 Enhanced has seen strong player engagement, peaking at 187,059 concurrent players on Steam. Nevertheless, the issues surrounding this release have raised concerns among PC gamers about the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, scheduled for fall 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, with a later release planned for PC.

In other related news, Take-Two has taken legal action against PlayerAuctions for allegedly selling unauthorized GTA 5 content. Additionally, Rockstar has acquired the developer of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, renaming it Rockstar Australia.
