HoYoverse's mobile hit, Zenless Zone Zero, continues its impressive market performance. The recent 1.4 update, titled "And the Starfall Came," propelled the game to a record-breaking $8.6 million in daily mobile player spending – surpassing even its launch day revenue in July 2024.
According to AppMagic, Zenless Zone Zero's total mobile revenue now exceeds $265 million. Update 1.4's success is attributed to the introduction of new characters like Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa, alongside enhanced gameplay mechanics, new areas, and game modes, all encouraging increased player spending.
The free availability of Harumasa as a promotional character, coupled with the gacha banner featuring Hoshimi Miyabi, significantly contributed to this record revenue.
This update also demonstrated exceptional player engagement. Unlike typical post-update spending declines after a week, Zenless Zone Zero maintained daily revenue above $1 million for over 11 days and stayed above $500,000 even two weeks later.
While undeniably successful, Zenless Zone Zero still trails behind HoYoverse's flagship titles, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, in terms of overall revenue.
