Zelda's Own Game Will Also Let You Play as Link

A recently posted ESRB rating page for Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has provided a glimpse of what to expect as the renowned princess Zelda's first own game debuts in September.

Zelda's Own Game Will Also Let You Play as Link

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's listing on the ESRB rating board's website confirmed that the game will let you play as both the iconic hero, Link, and the series' beloved princess, Zelda, in her first own game. Moreover, it confirmed that the game is rated E 10 and features no interactive elements such as microtransactions.

"This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of Zelda as she attempts to dispel rifts throughout Hyrule and rescue Link," the listing read. "As Link, players use a sword and arrows to defeat enemies; Zelda can use a magic wand to summon creatures (e.g., wind-up knights, pig soldiers, slime) for battle. Some enemies can be defeated by being set on fire; other creatures dissolve into mist when defeated."

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom marks a significant turn in the series as it is the first time Princess Zelda will be a protagonist in Nintendo's legendary series. Since its announcement, the game has quickly become the most wishlisted title among the games announced during the summer game showcase events.

Currently, however, it is unclear as to what extent and portions of the game Link will become playable. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is set to release on September 26, 2024.

Zelda Hyrule Edition Switch Lite Now Available for Pre-Order!

In line with the game's launch, Nintendo has unveiled the Zelda-themed Hyrule Edition Switch Lite, which is now available for preorder. This special-edition Switch celebrates the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. While the console does not include the game itself, it does come with a 12-month individual subscription to Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, at $49.99.

The Hyrule Edition Switch Lite comes in a golden colorway, with the noble house’s signature crest emblazoned on the back and a tiny Triforce symbol stamped on the front.
