Accessing Nightmare Crownless in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves
Nightmare Crownless, a potent Nightmare Echo in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves expansion, boasts enhanced Havoc and Basic Attack DMG, making it a valuable asset for specific characters. Unlike standard Echoes, obtaining Nightmare Crownless requires completing a specific quest and an additional step.
Obtaining Nightmare Crownless: A Step-by-Step Guide
This process involves two key stages: completing the "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" quest and locating four Dream Patrols.
1. Completing "Ruins Where Shadows Roam":
This quest isn't initiated through an NPC; instead, it's accessed via the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. Navigate to your map, locate the compass icon (top-left), and select Penitent's End. The quest will be listed within the region's progress.
2. Completing "Quest of Faith" (Optional but Recommended):
"Ruins Where Shadows Roam" is intrinsically linked to "Quest of Faith," an optional quest. To begin, locate the Resonance Beacon across the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent. Interact with the prompt near the circular arena beside the beacon to initiate a battle against a Questless Knight.
Defeating these knights requires strategic positioning. Lure them near lit Macabre Torches within the arena. These torches can be re-lit by drawing Fae Ignis enemies towards them. Avoid using high-damage skills near the torches to prevent accidental extinguishment.
3. Locating the Dream Patrols:
Upon completing "Ruins Where Shadows Roam" (and optionally, "Quest of Faith"), locate all four Dream Patrols within Penitent's End. Their locations are shown in the image above. While completing these patrols isn't mandatory for unlocking Nightmare Crownless, doing so provides additional resources and Monnaie. Once all patrols are found, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map within the ruins north of Penitent's End.
Important Note on Enhanced Absorption Charges:
Nightmare Echoes utilize Enhanced Absorption charges, significantly boosting their drop rate. Players receive a limited number (15) of these charges weekly. Consider this limitation when farming Nightmare Echoes for multiple characters.
