Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the musou genre. This new roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series, is available now.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to assemble a team of characters and battle hordes of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the style of Diablo and the roguelite Hades.
Gameplay involves assembling a team to confront the forces of "hell," battling demonic foes. The trailer showcased characters from various Warriors games, including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.
According to the PlayStation Blog, characters can be recruited and added to your team, providing additional summoning abilities. Players can utilize up to seven active heroes in combat, with a roster of 100 warriors available at launch.
Koei Tecmo intends to expand the character roster with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors, followed by further waves of characters. The developer hinted at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors franchise joining the game in the future.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players seeking the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
