Hyper Light Breaker Character Guide: Unlockable Breakers and Playstyles
Hyper Light Breaker offers a diverse roster of characters, each with unique playstyles. This guide covers all currently available characters and how to unlock them in the early access version.
Unlocking New Characters
To unlock new characters, you'll need Abyss Stones, dropped by Crowns (bosses). First, locate Prisms (indicated by golden diamond icons on the map) to access boss arenas. After defeating a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost teleporter and select the Breaker you wish to unlock using your accumulated Abyss Stones. Currently, only two characters are unlockable via this method; the process for unlocking others may differ in future updates.
All Characters and Their SyComs
Each character starts with a SyCom, defining their base stats and core perk, significantly impacting their playstyle.
Vermillion
Vermillion's default SyCom is Gunslinger, favoring ranged combat with critical hit chaining. His unlockable Tank SyCom boosts armor on perfect parries, enhancing melee capabilities and survivability.
Lapis
Lapis begins with Lightweaver, boosting Rail shot damage after collecting Batteries. Her unlockable Warrior SyCom increases core stats with each upgrade, making her incredibly powerful late-game.
Goro
Goro is a ranged character. His default Astrologer SyCom accelerates Blade skill charging while shooting. His unlockable Sniper SyCom significantly boosts critical hit rate, making him a high-risk, high-reward option. He's a glass cannon, dealing high damage but lacking defensive capabilities.
