Ubisoft's unannounced game, Project U, has been plagued by a series of unfortunate leaks. The trouble began in 2022, shortly after the closed beta testing phase started, when gameplay footage was first leaked. These leaks have resurfaced two years later, indicating that the project is still in development. Recently, following what appears to be a reboot of the game's development, an introductory cinematic has been leaked online.
The origin and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for leaking gaming content. Weber suggested that more videos from Project U could surface if the game continues to be in development for an extended period.
Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, inspired by the success of Helldivers 2. The leaked footage reveals that the game's narrative centers on an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players stepping into the shoes of chosen individuals tasked with repelling this extraterrestrial threat.
As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official information regarding the formal announcement of Project U.
