Subway Surfers City stealth-drops into soft launch

Author : Stella Jan 21,2025

Surprise! Sybo Games has quietly released a new Subway Surfers title for iOS and Android! Subway Surfers City, a sequel to the wildly popular original, is currently in soft launch. While hands-on impressions are still pending, app store listings reveal enhanced graphics and many features introduced throughout the original game's lifespan. Expect familiar faces alongside new additions like hoverboards.

Subway Surfers City's soft launch is currently limited to specific regions. iOS users in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines can download the game. Android users in Denmark and the Philippines have access as well.

A Bold Move?

Sybo's decision to create a sequel to their flagship title is a strategic gamble. The original Subway Surfers, while immensely successful, shows its age, particularly with its Unity engine. The stealth launch is an intriguing approach for a franchise of this global stature.

It remains to be seen how players will react to Subway Surfers City, and when a full global release will occur. We eagerly await its wider availability.
