Clockmaker, the popular match-three puzzler from developer Belka Games, is getting a huge event to celebrate the Independence Holiday. As befits a momentous occasion like July 4th, the event – that starts today – is set to go off with a bang, littering the proudest day in the US calendar with a dazzling array of unmissable, lavishly produced activities. We’ll take you through the full line-up shortly. Before that, here’s a quick refresher on Clockmaker for the uninitiated. Pitched as a match-three game for a more mature audience, Clockmaker thrusts you into a town cursed by the Maleficent Clockmaker, a wicked troublemaker who enjoys ruining lives and making clocks in roughly equal measure. Gameplay-wise, that means swiping and matching jewels to clear them from a series of grids, completing quests, unleashing power-ups, taking on challenges, and ploughing your way through an elaborate story campaign consisting of more than a thousand match-three stages. If you like match-three puzzlers, you’ll probably dig Clockmaker.
And now would be an excellent time to give it a go. Throughout the Independence Holiday event you’ll be able to take part in a number of different enjoyable and profitable activities, starting with the Gem-Collecting Tournament. This one sees you collecting gems, climbing the leaderboards, and claiming rewards. Designed for players at all levels, this is an excellent way to hone your skills and feather your nest with gems and goodies.
Next up, there’s Float High. To take part in this one, all you need to do is complete levels and collect special tickets. These allow you to advance on a game board, hoovering up gems, boosters, and bonuses as you go.
Lastly, there’s the Temporary Town event, a story-driven adventure in which one of the game’s main characters travels forward in time to New Clocksville.
Surprise surprise, the Clockmaker is still up to his dastardly tricks in this dystopian future, and it’s your job to thwart his plans.
