Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely revamping the Aquarion Tribe. This significant rework breathes new life into the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion receive a stunning makeover. Their land units now boast mermaid tails, making them amphibious warriors equally at home in water or on land. This aquatic adaptation allows for seamless movement across water, although they're slower on dry land. A key addition is flooded terrain, enabling land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
Construction and Warfare on the Waves
Buildings have also embraced the aquatic theme. Structures can now be built directly on water, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing the perfect underwater stronghold. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. The update also permanently integrates Aqua Crops, functioning similarly to land-based farms.
New Aquatic Combatants
Prepare for encounters with new marine creatures. Sharks provide surprise attacks, Puffers unleash long-range bombardments, and Jellies deliver electrifying shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also receive enhancements; Crabs now flood the tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops.
