Pokémon TCG Pocket's captivating card art has captivated players for months, but a recent discovery reveals cleverly hidden details linking some monsters to the original Game Boy games.
The investigation started when Reddit user asch_win highlighted Spearow's card, showcasing familiar landmarks: grass, a fence, trees, and two distinctive buildings. The purple and yellow building is identified as Celadon City's Department Store from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, situated near Route 16, a known Spearow habitat.

This intentional referencing of iconic locations, a collaborative effort by Creatures Inc. and DeNA, isn't limited to Spearow. Reddit user jteede uncovered further connections, including a Diglett card near Vermillion City and a Haunter card beside Lavender Town's tower. Asch_win also revealed location references within several Supporter cards.
Many cards depict Pokémon in fantastical settings unrelated to established lore. Some, like a Pikachu variant, mirror real-world collectible cards. However, others, uniquely found in Pokémon TCG Pocket, contain these well-concealed Easter eggs.
The community has enthusiastically joined the search, uncovering more references. A Gyarados card seemingly features the S.S. Anne, while Oddish, Venonat, and Bellsprout cards collectively depict a scene reminiscent of the seaside Snorlax encounter in FireRed and LeafGreen.

Since its October launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket has received one additional booster expansion, Mythical Island, bringing the total to four. Further expansions are anticipated, along with occasional additions via Wonder Pick Events and updates. As Creatures and DeNA continue releasing cards, players are encouraged to remain vigilant for more hidden references.
Meanwhile, the current Wonder Pick event features Charmander and Squirtle, and ongoing debate surrounds the impact of pack selection.
