Prepare for the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova! Black and White Kyurem and Shiny Meloetta are arriving. This guide details how to acquire and fuse Kyurem's powerful alternate forms.
Kyurem's Alternate Forms Debut
Following the December 2024 announcement, Niantic revealed the exciting addition of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta to the February 2025 Unova Tour. From February 21st to 23rd, 2025, attendees in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA, can participate in five-star raids to capture Kyurem and then fuse it.
Kyurem Fusion:
Fusion unlocks new attacks: Freeze Shock (Black Kyurem) and Ice Burn (White Kyurem). Here's what you need:
- Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy
- White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy
Fusion Energy is earned by defeating Black or White Kyurem in raids. Reversion to the base form is free. Increased Shiny rates for Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom are also in effect.
A global event, Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global, runs March 1st-2nd, 2025, offering free access to these legendary Pokémon for all players.
Shiny Meloetta Arrives!
Shiny Meloetta makes its Pokémon GO debut! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter this elusive Pokémon. The research doesn't expire, allowing flexible completion.
Iconic Unova Legendaries
Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originally appeared in Pokémon Black and White. Kyurem's alternate forms, with their signature Ice Burn and Freeze Shock attacks, were introduced in Pokémon Black and White 2. This Unova Tour event brings the complete experience to Pokémon GO.
