Capcom has unveiled exciting new gameplay footage for their highly anticipated action game, *Onimusha: Way of the Sword*, set to release in 2026. The spotlight of the game is none other than the historic Japanese swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. This revelation came during the PlayStation State of Play event, where a captivating trailer showcased the sword-based combat and formidable enemies that players will encounter.
In the trailer, Musashi's unparalleled sword skills take center stage, complemented by his roguish and comedic personality. Capcom describes *Onimusha: Way of the Sword* as a dark fantasy action game, featuring one of Japan's most legendary figures. Notably, Musashi's character model is inspired by the iconic Japanese actor, Toshiro Mifune, known for his portrayal of Musashi in classic samurai films.
Set in a Kyoto overrun by the malevolent force known as Malic, which is summoning Hell and its denizens to Japan, *Onimusha: Way of the Sword* promises a thrilling narrative. This game marks the first new entry in the Onimusha series in twenty years. To build anticipation, Capcom has also announced a remaster of *Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny*, slated for release on May 23, 2025.
