Microids has announced a remastered version of the classic 1994 action-adventure game, Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest, launching this autumn across all major platforms. This updated release retains the original game's atmosphere while incorporating modern enhancements. Developed by 2.21 and published by Microids, the project builds upon the legacy of Adeline Software International, the original developer now defunct, and its founders, including former Infogrames designer/lead programmer Frederick Raynal.
The remake boasts a revamped visual style, smoother gameplay, and a redesigned control scheme, all while staying true to the compelling narrative and intricate puzzles of the original. Key improvements include a refreshed level layout, an enhanced version of Twinsen's signature weapon, and a new soundtrack composed by Philippe Vachey, the original composer who also worked with Raynal on the Alone in the Dark series. The game's captivating storyline, featuring deep themes and formidable foes, remains intact.
Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest transports players back to the harmonious world of Twinsun, a planet inhabited by four unique sentient species. This serenity is shattered by Dr. Funfrock's invention of cloning and teleportation, plunging Twinsun into his tyrannical rule. Players step into the shoes of Twinsen, embarking on an epic adventure to overcome challenging puzzles, defeat Dr. Funfrock, and liberate Twinsun's inhabitants.
Following previous releases on GOG.com (PC and Mac), and later Android and iOS, this new iteration is set to arrive on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG) later this year. The project, announced in 2021 by 2.21 and co-creator Didier Chanfray (known for his work on Time Commando), represents the culmination of years of dedicated development.
