Nintendo's charming alarm clock, Alarmo, is waking up to a wider release! Coming in March 2025, this unique device will be available at major retailers worldwide.
Nintendo's Latest Announcement: More Than Just an Alarm
Forget the Switch 2 rumors for a moment (we know, it's hard!), Nintendo is focusing on a more… gentle awakening. Alarmo, the interactive alarm clock featuring beloved Nintendo characters, is expanding its reach. Starting in March, you'll find it at Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other select retailers.
Best of all? The Nintendo Online membership requirement is being dropped! Everyone can now experience the magic of Alarmo for $99.99 USD. While many fans celebrate this news, the anticipation for the Switch 2 continues to build.
Initial Release: An Instant Hit
Alarmo's popularity was immediately apparent. Following its October 9th, 2024 launch, the demand was so high that Nintendo temporarily suspended sales in Japan, switching to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Simultaneously, New York City retailers sold out completely, promising updates on restocking.
"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Furthermore, we will continue to produce the products in order to deliver them to as many customers as possible."
Alarmo's Features: More Than Just a Wake-Up Call
Alarmo isn't your average alarm clock. Featuring charming sound effects and visuals from games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, it offers 42 different scenes at launch, with more promised as free updates. Choose your scene, and watch your favorite character gently rouse you. Wave your hand to quiet the alarm—or face a more persistent visitor if you linger too long! No need to touch the clock itself thanks to its motion sensor.
Beyond its unique wake-up system, Alarmo provides hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and even sleep pattern tracking. For those sharing their bed with others or pets, the Button Mode is recommended. While initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this will no longer be necessary with the expanded release in March 2025.
