Nintendo's Japanese release of the Alarmo alarm clock has been delayed due to unexpectedly high demand. While the alarm clock is available globally, Japanese consumers will experience a postponement of the general retail release.
Initially scheduled for February 2025, the launch has been pushed back due to insufficient stock to meet the strong consumer interest. Currently, there's no official word on whether this will impact international availability, with a global general release still planned for March 2025.
In the interim, Nintendo Japan is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers within Japan. This pre-order window is slated to open in mid-December, with shipments beginning in early February 2025. Specific pre-order dates will be announced shortly.
The Alarmo, a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring iconic melodies from franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, and Splatoon, has proven incredibly popular since its October launch. Its initial success led to a rapid sell-out across both physical and online Nintendo stores globally, prompting Nintendo to temporarily halt online orders and transition to a lottery system. The unforeseen demand has directly resulted in the Japanese release postponement.
Further updates regarding pre-orders and the rescheduled general sale will be shared as they become available.
