Netflix is adapting the acclaimed video game Sifu into a feature film. The project, initially announced in 2022 and spearheaded by Story Kitchen and Sloclap (the game's developer), has expanded its production team.

T.S. Nowlin, known for his work on the Maze Runner franchise and Netflix's Project Adam, has been brought on to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad's involvement remains uncertain, Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick films, and his production company 87Eleven Entertainment will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also involved in adapting Ghost of Tsushima.
Sifu, released in 2022, quickly gained popularity, selling over a million copies in its first three weeks. The game follows a young kung fu master seeking revenge for their teacher's murder, utilizing a mystical pendant for resurrection at the cost of accelerated aging. The protagonist's journey is a thrilling blend of action and mystery.
