Leslie Benzies, the mastermind behind Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is poised to launch his next creation, MindsEye. The game received a fresh showcase during PlayStation's State of Play event.
A newly released trailer offers a glimpse into this high-octane spy thriller, bearing a striking resemblance to Grand Theft Auto. Expect thrilling third-person gunfights, stunning cinematic sequences, and intense drive-by shootings. View the cinematic trailer below.
Official press materials reveal that MindsEye follows Jacob Diaz, a protagonist equipped with a neural implant—the MindsEye—that has severely impacted his memory, leaving him with fragmented flashbacks from his military service. His journey involves uncovering the truth about his past, a quest that pits him against an AI-powered military force.
MindsEye has been in development for several years. Following his departure from Rockstar Games, Benzies established Build a Rocket Boy, collaborating with Hitman developer IO Interactive on this project. Advertised as a AAA action-adventure title, MindsEye will also integrate the Everywhere platform, previously described as a "high-budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.
While the new trailer omits mention of Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises an exhilarating action experience from a leading figure in the gaming industry. The game is slated for release sometime in Summer 2025.
