Lunar New Year event: January 29 – February 2
The Lunar New Year 2025 event, running from now until February 2 at 08:00 PM local time, offers Pokémon GO players a delightful way to celebrate the Chinese New Year. As it's the Year of the Snake, Pokémon GO increases the spawn rates of snake-themed Pokémon. Here’s the complete list of Pokémon with increased encounter rates as confirmed in the Lunar New Year announcement:

- Snivy (Shiny can be found)
- Darumaka (Shiny can be found)
- Dunsparce (Shiny can be found)

The event also introduces bonuses like an increased chance of obtaining Lucky Pokémon in trades and becoming Lucky Friends with other Trainers. Players can unlock daily Field Research tasks that reward free PokéCoins. Additionally, the 2KM Egg pool has been updated to include:

Legendary Flight Dynamax Moltres Event: February 3 – 9

From 06:00 PM until 07:00 PM on February 3, Dynamax Moltres will be available as a Max Monday boss at all Power Spots. After this initial hour, Dynamax Moltres will remain available until February 9, but at fewer Power Spots as Squirtle, Krabby, and Sobble will also be featured as Max Battle bosses until February 10. Locating Moltres might require some effort, but there's ample time to find this legendary firebird.

Karrablast & Shelmet Community Day: February 9
On Sunday, February 9, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, Pokémon GO will host a dual Community Day for Karrablast & Shelmet. This event provides players with increased encounters to farm Karrablast and Shelmet Candies, evolution bonuses, and better chances of encountering a Shiny. Evolving Karrablast or Shelmet by February 16, 2025, at 10:00 PM will grant an Escavalier that knows Razor Shell or an Accelgor with Energy Ball, respectively. Beloved Buddies: February 11 – 15

Raid Day: February 15

Scattered to the Winds: February 18 – 20
The event Scattered to the Winds will run from Tuesday, February 18, at 10:00 AM until Thursday, February 20 at 08:00 PM local time. Like Beloved Buddies and the Raid Day, its specifics are yet to be revealed, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we learn more.
Road to Unova: February 18 – March 1
The Road to Unova event, leading up to March’s Pokémon GO Tour Unova: Global event, starts on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM and extends into March. This week-long event features the debut of Shiny Meloetta, a variety of Raids with Gen-5 Legendaries, increased spawn rates of Unovan starter Pokémon, and premium Timed Research & bonuses, among other exciting features.
