The road to The Veilguard's release has been long and complex. Initially conceived in 2015 following Dragon Age: Inquisition, the project, then codenamed "Joplin," faced numerous delays. Resource allocation shifts to other BioWare titles, Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, along with a design shift away from the original live-service game plan, led to significant setbacks. The project was revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison," eventually announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.

Despite the challenges, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is finally poised for release this fall on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Get ready, Thedas awaits!
