Best Diamondback Decks in Marvel Snap

Even the most dedicated Marvel fans might not recognize Diamondback, the latest villain to slither into Marvel Snap. Unlike many female villains, however, Diamondback walks a blurry line between villainy and heroism. Let's explore the best ways to utilize her unique abilities.

How Diamondback Works in Marvel Snap

Diamondback is a 3-cost, 3-power card with a potent Ongoing ability: "Enemy cards here afflicted with negative Power have an additional -2 Power." This creates powerful synergy with the many negative-afflicting cards in Marvel Snap, such as U.S. Agent and Man-Thing. Scorpion, Hazmat, Cassandra Nova, Scream, Bullseye, and others also boost Diamondback's effectiveness. Ideally, hitting at least two cards with her effect transforms her into a formidable 7-power card.

However, be aware of counter-strategies. Luke Cage completely neutralizes her power, while Enchantress and Rogue can significantly diminish her impact.

Best Diamondback Decks in Marvel Snap

Despite her seemingly niche ability, Diamondback surprisingly fits into several competitive decks, including Scream Move, Toxic Ajax, High Evolutionary, and Bullseye Discard. While she excels in Toxic Ajax and High Evolutionary (which share similarities), let's examine two distinct deck builds: Scream Move and Toxic Ajax.

Series 5 cards (Scream, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Rocket Raccoon & Groot, Doom 2099) are crucial. While Scream and Rocket Raccoon & Groot are essential, consider replacing Sam Wilson with another affliction card like Scorpion if needed. The strategy centers on manipulating opponent's cards with Kingpin and Scream, while Diamondback secures a lane advantage. The Doom 2099 package provides late-game power.

Toxic Ajax Deck:

This deck boasts numerous Series 5 cards (Silver Sable, U.S. Agent, Red Guardian, Rocket Raccoon & Groot, Malekith, Anti-Venom, Ajax). Silver Sable can be substituted with Nebula, but the others are vital for optimal performance. The goal is maximizing Ajax's power through affliction cards. Rogue counters Luke Cage, a significant threat to this deck.

Is Diamondback Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens?

Diamondback is a valuable addition if you already possess many affliction-based cards and enjoy decks like Ajax or Scream. However, if you don't have key cards like Scream and Rocket Raccoon & Groot, or generally avoid affliction decks, she might not be worth the investment, as her effectiveness is highly dependent on these expensive card combinations.
