The New Denpa Men is coming (back) to iOS and Android, bringing bizarre RPG action to mobile

Author : Olivia Mar 18,2025

The New Denpa Men is returning to mobile devices! This quirky creature-collecting RPG, a beloved title on the 3DS and later the Nintendo Switch, is set for a mobile comeback on March 10th. The game will launch on iOS and Android. Interestingly, the original 3DS version utilized augmented reality (AR) via the system's camera, a feature reportedly included in this new mobile release.

For those unfamiliar, The Denpa Men series is an AR-based RPG where players collect the titular Denpa Men—creatures dwelling in radio waves—from the real world. These collected creatures are then used to battle enemies in various dungeons. While not a household name like Mario or Zelda, the series has enjoyed several releases across various Nintendo platforms. This mobile release isn't the first foray into the mobile market for developer Genius Sonority, who previously released the original New Denpa Men on mobile before its Switch remaster.

This upcoming release is a rerelease of a mobile game that was itself a remaster of a Switch title—a bit of a convoluted history! While the original New Denpa Men was Japan-only, the Switch version saw a global release. This renewed mobile launch raises hopes for a potential worldwide release of this unique RPG.
