Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile launch on iOS and Android. This Tencent-developed title, launching late January 2025, aims to revitalize the classic military shooter franchise with a blend of diverse missions and tactical gameplay.
For those unfamiliar, Delta Force holds a significant place in FPS history, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the real-life US military unit, the game series is known for its realistic weaponry and gadgetry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has crafted a compelling revival, featuring a large-scale Warfare mode reminiscent of Battlefield, alongside an extraction-focused Operations mode. A single-player campaign, drawing inspiration from the Battle of Mogadishu and the film Black Hawk Down, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its approach to combating cheaters. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, while intended to eliminate cheating, have drawn criticism for their perceived overreach. While these concerns may be less pronounced on mobile platforms due to the inherent limitations of cheating methods, they could still impact player interest.
The mobile release offers a chance for Delta Force to meet expectations, particularly given the reduced likelihood of widespread cheating compared to PC. To explore other popular mobile shooters, check out our list of the top 15 best iOS shooters.
