Stepping into the challenging world of Soulslike games, players of *The First Berserker: Khazan* are in for a thrilling battle right from the start. Here’s a detailed guide on how to conquer Yetuga, the first boss you'll encounter at the end of the Mount Heinmach level.
How to Beat Yetuga in The First Berserker: Khazan
As your initial encounter with a boss in *The First Berserker: Khazan*, the battle against Yetuga is no easy feat. After familiarizing yourself with the game's combat mechanics, you'll need to employ all of them to emerge victorious. Yetuga is an aggressive adversary, relentlessly attacking when its territory is threatened. This boss, similar to other large beasts you've faced, can unleash both long and short-range attacks, including a leaping slam.
To succeed, you'll need to master your dodges and parries based on your playstyle to minimize damage. Yetuga has an array of attacks, including:
- A two-hit combo beginning with a left-handed downward smash followed by a right-handed uppercut.
- A four-hit combo of horizontal swipes using either arm.
- A downward smash with both arms.
- A leaping single-handed smash.
- A jumping grab.
- A charge attack.
Throughout the fight, you'll learn its patterns and need to strike during the brief windows between its attacks. Parrying, except for the jumping grab, will not only help you avoid damage but also inflict more Stamina damage on the boss. Use Yetuga's aggressiveness to your advantage. For instance, dodging its charge and allowing it to smash into a wall can leave it vulnerable, giving you a chance to land free hits and potentially destroy the ice spikes on its back, which reduces its attack power.
In the second phase, you can parry all attacks except the grab, which will conserve your Stamina. Maintain the pressure to push Yetuga into its next stage. Once the beast roars and powers up, create some distance between you.
Yetuga will then grab a giant rock to smash towards you. Dodge or parry at the right moment to avoid damage. It will also start using a frost breath attack that spawns ice spikes; either move away or parry when the attack reaches you. Utilize Potent Attacks when possible, and when Yetuga becomes exhausted, unleash a Brutal Attack to deal significant damage. With persistence, Yetuga will soon fall.
Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.
