Tomb Raider's iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is officially joining the Survivors in Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive has announced! This highly anticipated addition follows recent chapters featuring Vecna (Stranger Things), Chucky (Child's Play), and Alan Wake. The announcement confirms long-standing fan speculation.
Dead by Daylight players can expect Lara Croft on all platforms starting July 16th, with PC players gaining early access via a Steam public test build. While a trailer showcasing her in-game skills and perks is yet to be released, Behaviour Interactive calls her "the ultimate survivor," a fitting title given her history of daring adventures. Her in-game model will be based on the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.
Dead by Daylight's 8th Anniversary Livestream also revealed exciting future content: a new 2v8 mode, a collaboration with Supermassive Games featuring Frank Stone, and a Castlevania chapter later this year.
This announcement coincides with renewed interest in the Tomb Raider franchise. Earlier this year, Aspyr released a remastered collection of the original trilogy, and Tomb Raider: Legend received a (somewhat controversially received) PS5 port. Furthermore, a new animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, featuring Hayley Atwell as Lara's voice, is slated for October 2024.
