Rebel Wolves, a studio comprised of former CD Projekt Red developers, recently showcased their upcoming open-world dark fantasy action-RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, at a game reveal event. Players assume the role of Coen, a Dawnwalker—a being existing between human and vampire—whose life is a constant struggle against the encroaching darkness. Unlike typical protagonists, Coen is portrayed as emotionally complex and vulnerable, adding depth to the narrative. He finds himself pitted against Brencis, a powerful vampire who has plunged Vale Sangora into chaos. Coen's mission: save his family within a 30-day/night timeframe (though the game's time flow is non-linear, allowing for extensive gameplay).
The reveal trailer hints at Coen's unique abilities, showcasing his superhuman agility and nascent magical powers. While details remain scarce, Rebel Wolves addressed fan questions via their Discord server.
Dawnwalkers, it was revealed, aren't simply hybrids; they represent a distinct entity. The game's magic system is grounded in the occult, featuring rituals, amulets, and summonings, rather than flamboyant spellcasting.
