This guide explains how to obtain and utilize the Crystalarium in Stardew Valley, a tool for efficiently producing gemstones and minerals. The 1.6 update introduced minor changes to its functionality, particularly regarding relocation and stone replacement.
Obtaining a Crystalarium
The Crystalarium recipe unlocks at Mining Level 9. Crafting requires:
- 99 Stone
- 5 Gold Bars (forged from Gold Ore)
- 2 Iridium Bars (forged from Iridium Ore)
- 1 Battery Pack (obtained from a Lightning Rod struck by lightning)
Alternatively, a Crystalarium can be obtained by:
- Completing the 25,000g Community Center bundle.
- Donating 50 minerals to the Museum.
Using the Crystalarium
Place the Crystalarium anywhere – indoors or outdoors. Popular locations include the Quarry for mass production.
The Crystalarium replicates any gemstone or mineral (except Prismatic Shards). Growth times vary: Quartz is fastest but least profitable, while Diamonds are slowest but most valuable (5 days).
To move a Crystalarium, hit it with an axe or pickaxe. Any gem currently being replicated will drop. To change the gem type, simply interact with the Crystalarium while holding the desired gem; the old gem will be ejected.
By strategically using the Crystalarium, players can significantly increase their gemstone yield, boosting profits and improving relationships with villagers who appreciate valuable gifts like Diamonds.
