Get ready, Call of Duty fans! The official Call of Duty podcast has confirmed the beta testing dates for Black Ops 6. This exciting news, along with other details, is outlined below.
Black Ops 6 Beta: A Two-Part Launch
The Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta will launch in two stages:
- Early Access (August 30th - September 4th): Available to those who pre-ordered Black Ops 6 or have active subscriptions to select Game Pass plans.
- Open Beta (September 6th - 9th): Free for everyone!
Mark your calendars! The full game releases October 25th, 2024, on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
New and Returning Game Mechanics
Treyarch's Associate Director of Design, Matt Scronce, revealed some key features during the podcast:
- Multiplayer Maps: 16 maps at launch – 12 standard 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps playable in 6v6 or 2v2 modes.
- Zombies Mode Returns: Two new maps will be available for this popular game mode.
- Omnimovement: A new movement mechanic is being introduced.
- Traditional Scorestreaks: The classic scorestreak system returns, resetting upon player death.
- Dedicated Melee Weapon Slot: Carry a melee weapon without sacrificing a secondary weapon.
