Atomfall Shows Off Gameplay Ahead of March Release

Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, plunges players into a chilling alternate 1960s England, devastated by nuclear catastrophe. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a deeper look at the game's mechanics and setting, promising a captivating experience for fans of titles like Fallout and STALKER.

The trailer showcases exploration of diverse environments, including quarantine zones, deserted villages, and ominous research bunkers. Survival hinges on resource scavenging, a key element of the gameplay loop. Players will face off against hostile robots and fanatical cultists, navigating perilous environments to stay alive.

Combat in Atomfall blends melee and ranged encounters. While the trailer highlights a relatively basic arsenal—a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle—it emphasizes weapon upgrades and the potential for discovering a wider variety of firearms throughout the game world. Crafting plays a significant role, allowing players to create essential healing items and tactical tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector adds another layer of strategic gameplay, assisting in the discovery of hidden supplies and crafting materials.

Character progression is facilitated through training manuals and unlockable skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning. This system promises depth and customization, allowing players to tailor their approach to the challenges ahead.

Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall has generated considerable excitement, particularly with its day-one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass. Releasing on March 27th for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, Atomfall's upcoming release is anticipated with high interest. Rebellion has hinted at a further, more in-depth video in the near future, so fans should stay tuned for more details.
