Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator Global Announces EOS

Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's global server is shutting down. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games announced the end-of-service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG, just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation.

Atelier Resleriana EOS Date:

The global server will shut down on March 28th, 2025—ironically, the same month the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary. Global players will conclude their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players progress to Chapter 22 (Part 2).

In-game purchases are disabled, but remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises continued content and events leading up to the closure. The global version's first anniversary on January 25th, 2025, is now bittersweet.

Reasons for Shutdown:

The developers cited an inability to maintain satisfactory player standards as the reason for the shutdown. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system almost immediately after launch. Issues with gameplay, monetization, and excessive power creep contributed to the game's underperformance and ultimately led to the EOS announcement.

The global version of Atelier Resleriana is still available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to experience the game before its closure. For a different mobile gaming experience, consider checking out the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year 2025 event, Days of Fortune.
