Assassin's Creed Shadows' "Claws of Awaji" DLC Leaks on Steam
A Steam leak has reportedly revealed details about the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji." This expansion, set in feudal Japan, promises a significant amount of new content.
Assassin's Creed Shadows, the series' first foray into East Asia, introduces dual protagonists: Yasuke, a Samurai, and Naoe, a Shinobi. The game's development has been turbulent, facing criticism and multiple delays, most recently to March 20, 2025.
According to Insider Gaming, a now-deleted Steam update revealed "Claws of Awaji" will feature:
- A new region: Expanding the already expansive world of 16th-century Japan.
- A new weapon type: Adding fresh combat options for players.
- New skills, gear, and abilities: Enhancing player customization and strategic depth.
- Over 10 hours of additional gameplay: Substantially increasing the game's overall playtime.
The leak also suggests that pre-ordering Assassin's Creed Shadows will grant access to both the "Claws of Awaji" DLC and a bonus mission.
This leak emerged shortly after Ubisoft announced yet another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows. The game's troubled development coincides with uncertainty surrounding Ubisoft's future, amidst rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition. The company has faced challenges recently, with several high-profile titles underperforming.
