How to Complete All Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE
After countless trial-and-error attempts, we've cracked the code to unlock all three Arata stages in GHOUL://RE. While these stages don't require exceptional gaming skills or extensive exploration, they do demand a lot of Reputation grinding—and we mean A LOT!
Arata Stage 1 in GHOUL://RE
To begin your journey, you need to accumulate 25,000 Reputation points and reach the highest rank of Special Investigator within the C.C.G. organization. Head to the Commission of Counter Ghoul (C.C.G. center) and find Damiro D. Mado on the second floor. He'll give you the quest to collect 10 one-eyed fragments and 10 Kokuja fragments.
The quickest way to gather these fragments is by defeating bosses like Eto and Tatara, and then crafting them at a workbench. To check your Reputation, speak to Saiyo Natsuki, the NPC in a black suit and tie. Once you have all 20 fragments, craft them into five one-eyed Kokuja fragments at the workbench. If you're struggling with bosses, our GHOUL://RE Boss and Raid guide can help you conquer them swiftly.
Return to Damiro, who will then direct you to speak to "him." This mysterious "him" caused quite a stir in the GHOUL://RE community, but it turns out "he" is none other than Black Reaper of Doom And Despair.
For your convenience, here's our guide on all NPC locations in GHOUL://RE to make your quest easier.
Arata Stage 2 in GHOUL://RE
To unlock Arata stages 2 and 3, you must play in permadeath (PD) mode to obtain the legendary armor. We recommend teaming up with strong allies, as solo missions can be particularly frustrating.
Once you've collected 100,000 Reputation points, head to the elevator in the C.C.G. building and go to the Laboratory. There, find Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, the man with the scalpel in a black suit by the door.
Hand over five one-eyed Kokuja fragments and your 100,000 Reputation to complete Stage 2 and acquire Arata-Proto armor. There's been much debate about the necessary reputation, with some claiming 75,000 is enough, and others suggesting between 90,000 and 100,000. From our experience, 100,000 Reputation points is the safest bet for success.
Remember, you must play the second and third Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE on PD servers only. Otherwise, you'll receive a repeated response from the Black Reaper, and you will not complete Arata Stage 2 or gain access to Arata Stage 3.
Arata Stage 3 in GHOUL://RE
The final Arata Stage also involves Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, along with more fragments and a significant amount of cash. You must be in PD mode to continue your quest for the epic armor.
Gather a single one-eyed Kakuja fragment and save up 500,000 Yen. Visit Black Reaper of Doom And Despair in the C.C.G. building, and upon paying him, he will teleport you to face the Kishou Arima boss.
Defeating Kishou Arima requires at least average gaming skills. Prepare for intense combat involving jumping, dodging, blocking, and dealing high damage. While challenging, Kishou Arima is beatable with some practice, even for mediocre players.
Be aware that you may die multiple times during this encounter. Stock up on resources, as each retry requires another one-eyed Kakuja fragment and an additional 500,000 Yen.
Once you defeat Kishou Arima, you'll unlock Stage 3 Arata-Proto armor. However, remember that while Arata armor provides impressive buffs and protection, it also has significant drawbacks.
Arata Armor Tips & Tricks
Arata-Proto Armor Buffs
Arata armor is incredibly powerful, but it drains your hunger rapidly while worn. You cannot eat while wearing Arata at any stage, so you'll need to remove it to replenish your hunger.
Despite these drawbacks, the armor's benefits are substantial. Firstly, you cannot be ragdolled while wearing Arata, making it a huge advantage in all scenarios.
Arata also enhances your equipment. Your character becomes increasingly "tanky", able to withstand and deal massive damage. However, if the armor depletes your hunger bar during combat, it will start consuming your health bar. Be cautious during boss fights and remove it if it becomes too dangerous to maintain your health.
Reputation Grinding
The most efficient way to amass the required Reputation is to fight bosses in PD mode. Although risky, each boss defeated in PD mode grants 1,500 Reputation points, far surpassing the 500 you earn outside PD mode. Killing Ghouls, on the other hand, only yields 100 Reputation points per kill, making them less ideal for grinding during Arata quests.
