Damasi Rules
Board Setup: Played on an 8×8 board, each player starts with 16 men arranged in two rows, leaving the back row empty.
Movement and Capture: Men move forward or sideways one square and capture by jumping over an opponent's piece to an empty square beyond. Men cannot move backwards. Upon reaching the back row, a man is promoted to a king, which can move any number of squares in any direction (forward, backward, or sideways) and capture similarly.
Capture Rules: Captured pieces are removed immediately after being jumped. If a jump is possible, it must be taken. When multiple captures are available, the player must choose the sequence that captures the most pieces. There's no distinction between capturing a man or a king; each counts as one piece. If multiple sequences capture the same number of pieces, the player can choose.
Game End: The game ends when a player has no legal moves left, either due to all pieces being captured or being completely blocked. The opponent then wins.
Unique Capture Mechanics: Unlike other draughts variants, in Damasi, you can cross the same square more than once in a single capturing sequence. However, turning 180 degrees between two captures within a multi-capture is not allowed.
Thank you for choosing to play Damasi! Enjoy the strategic depth and fun of this classic game.
