This app, ASolver, solves various Rubik's Cubes and similar puzzles. Simply photograph your puzzle using your device's camera, and ASolver will guide you through the solution steps. Supported puzzles include the classic 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube, along with 2x2x2, 4x4x4, 5x5x5, and many more variations like the Void Cube, Ivy Cube, Skewb, Pyraminx, and Megaminx. The app even handles puzzles that have been incorrectly reassembled!
ASolver offers several ways to solve your puzzle: a step-by-step visual guide using an interactive model, or a list of moves. If the camera struggles to recognize the puzzle (due to lighting or glare), you can manually input the puzzle's configuration.
For simpler puzzles, ASolver finds the optimal solution with the fewest moves possible. While optimal solutions for larger puzzles (like the 4x4x4 and 5x5x5) are unknown, ASolver provides solutions that are very close to optimal for the 3x3x3 and Void Cube (around 19 moves for a well-scrambled cube). Average move counts for larger puzzles are also provided.
